Did Adriana Lima Wear Something of J. Law’s to CANNES?

These dazzling diamonds seem similar…

In a sea of attention grabbing jewels at the Cannes Film Festival, one of the most amazing was Adriana Lima’s bold diamond bib by Chopard. The gemmy white gold mesh scarf the supermodel paired with her white strapless Naeem Khan gown caused a sensation on the red carpet–but not for the first time.

Jennifer Lawrence wore the same type of piece at the Golden Globes last year. She styled the Chopard design quite differently with a modernist Dior red dress, but a side-by-side look at the jewels shows they are practically identical. The difference, it seems, is a matter of a couple of carats. Adriana’s jewel is set with 163.85-carats of diamonds, while J. Law’s necklace was just a bit smaller; it featured 156.77-carats of diamonds instead.

While stars wearing the same dress may be considered a fashion faux pas, the same is not true for wearing the same jewels. The concept is similar to vintage treasures worn time and again. When a modern jewel is seen on various stars, it becomes a very high priced “It” item. The Chopard mesh bib is now clearly in that camp, considering it was also worn at Cannes in 2015 by model Isabeli Fontani.

Other stunning examples of repeat performance jewels are the pieces from Bulgari’s Serpenti collection. The bracelets and necklaces have been worn by countless style stars. Bella Hadid had on the same style of Serpenti necklace Naomi Watts has worn on numerous occasions (including the Golden Globes in 2015), and Isabelle Huppert donned it at Cannes most recently, just a couple of days after Bella.
